On the 18th of June 2024, GLFx Nairobi led in the planting of 400 trees with the students of Embulbul Secondary School and Nkaimurunya Primary School. This part of our project on Promoting multi-stakeholder partnerships for Oloolua Forest Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration.

The school which border Oloolua Forest, have dual value in our forest restoration project:
a. They provide a buffer zone for the forest, significantly reducing the potential for forest encroachment and fragmentation.
b. The students are key ambassadors for conservation and restoration and carry home with them the information they gather in school on environmental and landscape restoration.

The tree species planted were indigenous species, fast growing exotic trees and fruit trees to provide extra value to the students and their schools for the foreseeable future.
